I had a great time at Kil Kare. I need to thank Jim Follkie for coming all the way from Virginia and Daryl and Heidi Arnold for coming across the state of Ohio to help me out. They did a great job. I also want to thank Denny Salzwimmer and the great members of the GLNFCC for allowing me to live my dream once again and thanks to Mike Klontz for all the help he gave Denny, and for sponsoring the best burnout award, which I was fortunate enough to win!!!!!
I also need to thank John DeCort for bailing me out once more as I left three parachute packs at home and he lent me a spare that he had. Thanks again, John.
We went to the race with new tires and a borrowed blower and had some concerns about both. We made a test run in the afternoon in the left lane and the car went straight but was shaking a bit and I had to backpedal. Ran a 5.01. The first round I was matched up with the Horvath's once again. I got out on him a bit but was plagued with some more shake and had to backpedal it again and that gave that thunderous hemi the chance to once again get around me!! That new parachute is real purdy!!!
The second round I was up against the beautiful Mopar Crazy car. I got out on them but once again had some tire issues and had to backpedal it again. John and Chris also had some issues and I was able to get the win light.
Kil Kare is a nice place, the fans are great and I really hope we get to go back there!!!
The new tires grab a lot harder than the old ones and they were unloading at the hit. The new wheelie bars and some adjustments will take care of that issue.
